Abe Baldonado, Chile Wire host, sits down with the Executive Director of New Mexico Family Action Movement, Jodi Hendricks. They discuss the major family issues currently present up in Santa Fe and why they are important. They talk through the bad bills that have been introduced since the start of the 2025 Legislative Session but also some of the really good pieces of legislation that have been making their way through the roundhouse.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Santa Fe, NM – “Today, New Mexico’s legislators had the opportunity to do what is right—to recognize and affirm a parent’s fundamental right to make medical decisions for their own child. Instead, they took the coward’s way out, choosing to table this critical bill rather than stand up and be counted on an issue that affects every family in this state.
Tabling a bill isn’t just a procedural move—it’s a shameful attempt to avoid accountability. Rather than having the courage to engage in open debate and take a real vote, some legislators hid behind a motion that denies parents the recognition and rights they deserve. This decision is nothing less than an abandonment of parental authority and an endorsement of government control over our children.
While we are deeply disappointed in those who chose political convenience over parental rights, we want to extend our sincere gratitude to Representatives Jenifer Jones and Rod Montoya for sponsoring this bill and fighting for New Mexico’s families. We also recognize Representatives Nicole Chavez, Elaine Sena Cortez, Alan Martinez, and Jenifer Jones for their unwavering commitment to standing up for parents and refusing to back down in the face of opposition.
Let this be a wake-up call to every parent in New Mexico: your rights are under attack, and some of your elected officials would rather silence the debate than defend your ability to make medical decisions for your own child. NMFAM will not forget this betrayal, and we will not stop fighting to hold these legislators accountable.
To every lawmaker who thinks they can ignore the voices of parents—you are wrong. We are watching, and we will remember.”
📢 Contact your representatives today and demand they stop running from accountability!
Protecting our Kids shouldn't be controversial - It should be common sense.
SB500, NMFAM's Detransitioner Protection Act, recognizes that every child is precious and every parent deserves a voice.
SB500 offers a compassionate response by ensuring that no child undergoes irreversible procedures before fully comprehending the lifelong implications.
It reinforces a fundamental principle: parents should be informed and involved in their child's medical care.

While the media would try to lure you into what seems like a popularity contest of personality and presence, the reality is that our vote should have nothing to do with these things; but rather be solely focused on who will best (or better) protect the values that God has established in his word.
We must vote our biblical values; but what does that look like?
Check out our 3 part series on voting biblical values!
#NoFilter: Unmasking the Woman God Created You to Be
For far too long our very identity has been under attack by a progressive and harmful agenda. The identity of a woman has been masked and filtered to the point that no one recognizes her. A breakdown of individual identity creates a fragile foundation for the family unit. If families are to thrive in today's society, we must return to the truth of who God created us to be.
Jodi has beautifully crafted a unique walk through scripture to secure our foundation in God-given identity. We encourage and recommend families to walk through the #NoFilter journey with Jodi to gain valuable, biblical insight into who God has created us to be.
Our only hope of standing firm in the fight against gender experiments on kids and the redefinition of "woman" is to be routed in truth and to pass it firmly to our children. "
In #NoFilter: Unmasking the Woman God Created You to Be, we begin our journey by exposing the filters that distort our vision both of ourselves and of God. You will find that filters have trapped you in a wilderness for far too long.
But, the most beautiful thing about the wilderness,
is the moment God begins to woo you out of it!
Friends, as creations of the Creator himself, you need no filter. It’s time to unmask who God has created you to be and flush the filters that distort your vision.
Christians are called to be salt and light in our culture, but the American church has grown apathetic in the stewardship of our rights and liberties. Presently, there is relatively little difference between the voting patterns of people who call themselves Christians and the public at large. This should not be! If Christians retreat from the call to be involved in our culture, our nation will continue to stray away from God’s timeless truths and principles. We Pray, Vote, and Engage!
By taking THE PLEDGE, you agree to:
PRAY - Commit to pray for 5 minutes a week for our nation.
VOTE - Commit to vote in every election (local, state, and national).
ENGAGE - Commit to engage your heart in some form of civic education and involvement for the well-being of our nation
Once you've taken the pledge you'll receive Voting Reminders, Prayer Prompts, and Biblical voting resources!
