The Christian Action Network is an initiative of New Mexico Family Action Foundation. Our Mission is to keep Christian leaders informed, knowledgeable and equipped.
WHY?
It's not about politics, it's about Biblical Values and God's call to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God.
Micah 6:8 “He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”
Politics is often an area that people of faith like to stay out of. But God’s word admonishes us to do the opposite. When Micah summarized God’s law into these three points, he helped us understand the truth of what an Almighty God truly desires from his people.
Do Justice: God’s word gives us a clear understanding of what Justice is. How can we expect those who do not know Him to establish Justice that honors Him? We must engage for the sake of shaping justice that comes from God’s word.
Love Kindness: It is not our place to scream hateful messages to those who do not understand the Justice we stand for, but rather to extend compassion and kindness so that they may see our actions and our love. This allows our message of hope and biblical values to stand out in the crowd and have opportunity to take root and bear fruit.
Walk Humbly with your God: As Christians, we cannot engage in anything without first walking with the Lord. This ensures we are tuned in to his heart, his desires, and his principles. It drives us and guides our steps as we engage in a dark world with the light of Jesus – Yes, even in Politics.
We are his people, called to do justice, love kindness, and to walk humbly with our God not just in the arenas we like or feel comfortable in, but in all we do on this earth.
As you shepherd your flock, our desire is to provide you with timely and relevant information to keep you informed, knowledgeable, and equipped to lead and engage your congregation as God directs you.
Good morning Pastors & Christian Leaders,
I’m State Representative Rod Montoya and I’m a fellow believer. I hope that you will take the next couple of minutes to read this message in which I will detail the attack on religious liberty, the sanctity of life and parent’s rights in New Mexico.
Thank God that Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, and that he has signed several executive orders which will bolster these important rights on a national level. That being said, his actions will not undo the damage that has been done in New Mexico by Governor Lujan Grisham and progressive legislators over the past few years.
In the last five years, we have seen our churches shut down with a simple swipe of the governor’s pen; we have passed laws that allow underage children to get an abortion or gender-altering “care” without a parent being notified; and we have made it legal for biological males to enter female safe-spaces and participate in female sports.
Once again, thank God for actions our president has taken which address many of these issues on a national level, however, New Mexico is not benefitting from these actions because of laws that were passed by our legislature which preempt them. Most New Mexicans weren’t even aware these laws were being pushed until it was too late.
That is why I’m writing to you. If you are interested in being informed of bills, policies and laws which will affect clear Biblical directives and your Christian world view, you need to do nothing more than open and read the updates we will be sending to you from the Christian Action Network (CAN).
“CAN” is a New Mexico based initiative whose mission is to keep Pastors and Christian Leaders informed about proposed bills, laws and policies that will effect you and your parishioners.
Standing Firm,
